Multicolor Ripple Baby Throw

Intro

This pattern was modified from Lion Brand pattern L0045AD. It makes a throw about 40" wide and 42" long.

Supplies

Red Heart Super Saver (7 oz) in six colors. Below are just suggestions:

Aran 6 balls

Honeydew 1 ball

Light Blue 1 ball

Aruba Sea 1 ball

Lemon 1 ball

Petal Pink 1 ball

Size N-13 9:00 mm Crochet Hook

Directions

NOTE:

This throw is worked with 2 strands held together throughout. Every other ripple will be two strands of Aran. The ripples in between will be one strand of Aran plus one strand of color.

STITCH EXPLANATION:

dc3tog (dc 3 sts together) Yarn over, insert hook into st and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops. (Yarn over, insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through 2 loops) twice, yarn over and draw through all loops on hook - 2 sts decreased.

DIRECTIONS:

With 1 strand each of Aran and the first color (your choice) held together, ch 88.

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, *dc in next 4 ch, dc3tog, dc in next 4 ch, 3 dc in next ch; rep from * 5 more times, dc in next 4 ch, dc3tog, dc in next 4 ch, 2 dc in last ch;

Row 2: Ch 3, turn, dc in first dc, *dc in next 4 dc, dc3tog, dc in next 4 dc, 3 dc in next dc; rep from *5 more times, dc in next 4 dc, dc3tog, dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in top of turning ch; change to 2 strands of Aran.

Row 3 & 4: Rep Row 2 twice; change to 1 strand each of Aran and color 2.

Row 5 & 6: Rep Row 2 twice; change to 2 strands of Aran.

Row 7 & 8: Rep Row 2 twice; change to 1 strand each of Aran and color 3.

Row 9 & 10: Rep Row 2 twice; change to 2 strands of Aran.

Row 11 & 12: Rep Row 2 twice; change to 1 strand each of Aran and color 4.

Row 13 & 14: Rep Row 2 twice; change to 2 strands of Aran.

Row 15 & 16: Rep Row 2 twice; change to 1 strand each of Aran and color 5.

Repeat pattern of color changes for a total of 44 rows or 22 stripes.

Fasten off.
